Our Mission

When asked what we do, our by-laws describe our purpose this way: "The Greater Keene and Peterborough Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the commercial, industrial, educational, cultural, recreational and general welfare of the Monadnock Region of Southwest, NH."

The chamber engages the diverse segments of our regional economy with a common goal of creating a better business community, a better community in which to live, work, play and raise a family. The main office is located at 48 Central Square in downtown Keene, NH, and the Chamber is primarily a volunteer-based organization that works to serve the needs of the membership through a variety of networking, educational, marketing and community service programs. The Greater Keene and Peterborough Chamber of Commerce is not a member of the US Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber President, Luca Paris, directs a staff of four part-time employees who serve the needs of Chamber members directly ... and indirectly by handling thousands of inquiries about our region.

When issues arise in the community where it is appropriate for the Chamber to take a public position, the following process will be followed:

1. The issue is brought to the President or an Executive Committee member;

2.  The Executive Committee reviews the issue and, if there is consensus, the issue is brought to the full Board for discussion and decision;

3.  The Executive Committee will gather and report information on both sides of the issue.
