The museum is honoring the 150th Anniversary of Japan open her doors to cultural & economic trade. Japanese objects flooded the West and caused for all thingss Japanese. The exhibit features examples of some of the type of items that fostered the craze which influenced fashion, theater, advertising, decorative arts, & landscape design. Objects to be exhibited include a fabulous collection of woodblock prits depicting Japanese elements of the entertainment districts & marches of the shoguns; a painted screen; a child's kimono; metal objects; fans; lacquer work; netsuke. The exhibit will continue until October 15, 2008.
